Millie's 3rd annual Bake Sale at Cafe Rio Corporate Office

Millie did a bake sale today at Clay's work for our "Keep Smiling Project." Millie helped with every step of the process and she LOVED IT! She begged me to bring her cash register so it could be "like a real bakery!" I'm so humbled and grateful for the support of the people at Clay's office. Not only did they order a ton of stuff- they also waited in line patiently so that Millie could bag up everything for them and use her cash register. With their kindness, Millie raised over $250.00. That's an entire Disneyland Park Hopper ticket for someone in the family we are focusing on right now! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Cafe Rio Corporate office for making her efforts so rewarding for her!

We're Back!

We have taken a little break from the Keep Smiling Project.  Our last big fundraising effort was last Spring. Life has been crazy and included moving and right now we are building a new house.  Our plan was not to start it up again until after we move into and get settled into a new house.  However, when a friend of mine told me about a very special family- it sprung us into action!

The family we are focusing our fundraising on right now is a secret.  Meaning, we are going to surprise them, so we can't tell names right now.  Of course, if you are dying to know-

Millie's Bake Sale- THANK YOU CAFE RIO!

I helped Millie put on another bake sale at the Cafe Rio Corporate Offices the weekend before Easter. Millie decided what to sell, and helped make and package everything.   We made darling Easter bags filled with goodies like Cadbury Egg cookies, Chocolate and Caramel dipped pretzel rods, and Cinnamon Roll Popcorn.   My hard-working little 4 year old raised $355.00 for The Keep Smiling Project's sponsored family- The Norris Family.  A giant THANK YOU to all the employees at Clay's office for always being so supportive of Millie's bake sales.  You make it so much fun for her!

Online Auction Update

We have about 3 more weeks until the Online Auction to benefit the Norris Family starts. We have received some great donations and I want to thank all of those who have so generously donated.  As actual items start coming in, I will share some pictures of some of the great things that will be up for auction- that way you can get a head start on your "TO BID ON" list. As a reminder- 100% of all money raised is going directly to the Norris Family.  

I am working with some local businesses to collect some great items and gift cards. I wanted to give a special shout out to one of my absolute FAVORITE restaurants in Utah- (and no I am not just saying that!)  

THE WILD ROSE in South Jordan and TIBURON in Sandy each donated $75.00 gift cards for the auction. I have been to The Wild Rose 3 times in less than a month- the food is amazing!  

We also have some gift cards to ONE SWEET SLICE (aka-best cupcake shop in Utah!) and CAFE RIO (who doesn't love Cafe Rio?)


I have no affiliation at all with Wild Rose, Tiburon, or One Sweet Slice-  well, besides being a frequent diner at all of them- They just were moved to help when I told them about the Norris Family. Local businesses are pretty much the best, aren't they!?! 

You don't have to be super talented or have your own business to donate- Collecting donations can be as simple as an email to one of your favorite businesses! If you would like to donate an item for the auction let us know at thekeepsmilingproject@gmail.com.

Online Auction

The Keep Smiling Project will be putting on its first ONLINE AUCTION to benefit the Norris Family.  We are currently accepting donations of goods and services to be auctioned off in May.   The date for the auction will be May 2-5.  We need all items by April 25th.  

Most anything will work, so if you have any ideas and you want to get involved, let us know!

Norris Family

We've picked a really special family to focus our fundraising efforts on.   

Kevin Norris was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma to his brains and lungs last week.  His condition is very serious and he underwent neurosurgery to stop a massive brain bleed that the tumor in his brain was causing. This is a huge shock to his family and friends- and especially to his wife and 2 young children. 

We've never met this family, but we have heard amazing things about them.  I just can't imagine what they all must be going through.  This is exactly why we started The Keep Smiling Project, and we want to help out in any way we can.
